1. 1 Brief History and Profile
Mariano Marcos State University was founded on January 6, 1978 by virtue of Presidential Decree 1279 issued by Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos. The decree merged the then Mariano Marcos Memorial State College of Science and Technology in Batac, and the Northern Luzon State College in Laoag City, and integrated the college departments of the Ilocos Norte Agricultural College and the llocos Norte College of Arts and Trades. MMSU’S mandate is to provide advanced education in the arts, agricultural and natural sciences, as well as in technological and professional fields. The university has defined itself through excellence in its core functions: instruction, research, extension, and resource generation. It is recognized as a model for the rest of the SUC system in the Philippines for its notable R&D activities, international linkages, and commercialization of innovations. Its 300-hectare main campus is located at the heart of the City of Batac, Ilocos Norte, a peaceful young city conducive for educational and research. 1.3 Teaching System
The current curriculum used by the Philippines is K to 12 Curriculum, it is implemented from Grade 7 - 9. For the Grade 10, they are still using the previous curriculum that is Science Curriculum. on the LHS for one one-hour lesson. School starts at 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. one of the most noticeable differences between teaching system in philippines and Indonesia is duration for one subeject. in LHS MMSU for one subjet the lesson happened for one hour ( 60 minute). But in indonesia for one subject in general for 1,5-3 hours. Based on my observations in social studies lessons. The teaching system at LHS teachers usually enter the class on time. Teachers usually teach using power point media in explaining the teacher's material by giving examples that are relevant to the surrounding environment and the teacher will ask questions. after explaining at the end of the lesson the teacher gives individual or group assignments for the next meeting. Based on my interview with the field study student there is a fun fact they say that many students think that social science lessons are boring lessons so, teachers need to choose the right and interactive learning strategy. A few facts also for social science lessons still use tagalag language in learning so that I don't understand. However, I am lucky that there is a field study (FS) student who helps me to translate.

2.1 Teaching methods of the teacher
- For grade seven, before starting the lesson, the teacher will instruct the students to collect their smartphones at the teacher's desk. The main purpose of the teacher doing that is so that in the learning process students can focus on following the lesson. Teachers use expository learning strategies abaout natural disaster . however, learning still focuses on student centered where, teachers often ask open questions to students and provide examples that are relevant to life.
- For the eighth grade, I had a slightly different experience because when I observed the students, it was not the teachers but the collage teacher education students from MMSU who were doing teaching practice and internships. Based on my observations the fs student explained material about the history of philosophers in the world. The learning method in the opening part of the lesson they use word guessing games and pictures to attract students' attention so that learning is fun. then in the core part using the expository method at the core of the material. In addition, they also insert quotes in learning.
- For grade nine based on my observations, the teacher uses expository learning which explains material about various economic systems. The teacher explains the material by giving relevant examples such as student activities in the canteen buying food and the teacher also uses animated videos to explain the material so that students are not bored. In learning the teacher also asks open questions so that there is two-way communication.
2.2 Their learning materials and innovation
- grade 7 natural disasters innovations that I found the teacher connects natural conditions in the Philippines with natural disasters that often occur such as el-nino.
- grade 8 history philosophy of innovation that I found every time I entered 1 sub material fs student will display guessing games images or words in power point.
- grade 9 economics innovations that I found the teacher gave and proposed examples that were easy to understand. such as explaining the economic system with activities to buy traditional Filipino food, namely chipay or graham mangoes.
2.2 Sources of learning and technology used by the teachers
C. Teaching Plan
I made lesson plans according to the curriculum used at LHS MMSU, namely the K-12 curriculum. the following lesson plans are made for teaching practice in grade 9 regarding consumption according to my major, namely economic education.
